SOMEWHERE IN EUROPE

THIS IS AMERICA

THE AMERICAN DREAM

The nature of The American Dream and the ideal of attainable freedom, prosperity and success is both questioned and contradicted with the reality of life in this project. Through self-portraiture, the borderline between dream and reality is challenged with fragments of suppressed childhood experience. Within these photographs, a different persona with a dark unique life story is  assumed, exploring the relationship between the costumed exterior and the anguished interior.  With an uncensored intimacy, these images depict the emotional struggle of a significant moment of realisation  in their lives, with the unsettling atmosphere of self-reflection present.

DREAMING IN VIOLENCE

Exploring the journey of childhood imagination to adult reality, this is a photographic series depicting characters and themes from the dark nature of children’s fairy-tales in modern day situations. Who are the modern day Little Red Riding Hoods, who are subject to rape? The Snow Whites who are repressed and abused, the Hansel’s and Gretel’s who are abandoned, the Belle’s who are forced to marry and the Little Mermaids who are heartbroken? The dark origins of these seemingly innocent fairy-tales present a darker and more realistic portrayal of life and it is these familiar disturbing realities that are exposed rather than the ‘happily ever after’ presented by Disney ideals.

SERIAL LOVE

What does love look like? Serial Love is a visual chapter of our story; of real continuous love, growth, adventure and good times. With unedited imagery of moments that are captured exactly as they are, there is a strong abundance of adoration. This is a collection of some of the candid intimate excerpts of my wonderful forever person.

CASA DE AVO

This is an up close and intimate follow into the simple and beautiful life of  my grandad. Residing on the paradisal, tiny island of Madeira amidst the North Atlantic Ocean, my Grandad lives in a small, typical house in the mountains. Dedicated to God as a devoted catholic and deep rooted in the belief of working hard, he is a good honest man, who still works the land with volumes of brilliant stories to tell.

Walking through the streets of cities around the world, watching every day life and capturing the spaces and moments i have fallen in love with. There have been many instances where I have caught a glimpse of something beautiful and felt compelled to take a picture. I am intrigued by the relationship between a person and a space, and the connection they have. I am drawn to a space that has made me feel something and it has a story i would like to visually tell.

The land of the free? Inspired by the Ashcan Approach, this is the  real, gritty, but charming document of the city of dreams through my glasses.

THE ARCHIVE

CLIENTS

Moments of real, snaps of good times and not so good times, and are all memories I will keep forever. I show you intimate openings into the life shenanigans of the people closest to me. It's always a vibe with the people I love and these are some of the ones we've shared together.

A collection of some fun and delicate topics, earlier experimental concepts  such as low the woman is portrayed in society, especially in the home, with collections like White Space, a surreal photo montage, Sunny Side Up, a 35mm black and white satire, and Home Sweet Home, a cinematic digital set of dark realities, to site specific political works surrounding antisemitism and the concentration camps.

A collection of projects I have worked on for clients. Inc promotional photographs for both merchandise and theatre productions, to documenting charity events for social media.
